Serpaes (also called "Red Minor Tetras") tend to be good schooling fish for the community tank. They are peaceful, though a sick or injured one may be attacked by the others.
Make sure your tank is well planted, as these guys like to hide behind larger plants.
It's pretty difficult to sex the Serpaes. Females are said to be rounded as compared to males, but even that is vague. In order to breed them, you should keep the pH in the tank at about 6.8.
