These fish can be extremely colorful and really brighten a well planted community aquarium. Be sure to keep a healthy amount of both strongly rooted and floating plants. It has been my personal experience, that these guys like to stake a claim in a corner, or behind a larger plant (like a Sword or even Anacharis). They can be shy, but often will peek out and swim about for a bit.
Sexing isn't very difficult. The males are the brighter of the two - as the females tend more towards the gray colors as opposed to bright blues and such. Breeding them, however, can be difficult. The Gouramis are bubble nest builders, so be sure you have ample floating plants to shelter the "nest".
Other color variations of the Dwarf Gouramis include the Powder Blue (or Coral Blue) which less defined stripes, and much more of the iridesecnt blue; and the Flame or Sunset Gourami who's body is a firey red-orange with an iridescent blue dorsal fin.
